Leaving Certificate Course

Introduction:

This is an intensive two year course for students who have successfully completed the Junior Certificate Course in preparation for Leaving Certificate Examination.

RANGE OF SUBJECTS:

• Choice: We offer the most comprehensive range of subjects. Students can choose one subject from each option block.
  
  
• Higher and Ordinary Level: All subjects are offered at higher and ordinary level. Students are actively encouraged to pursue the higher course where possible.
  
  
• Technical Subjects: We offer the full range of Technical subjects for the Leaving Certificate which include - Engineering, Construction Studies (Theory, Craftwork, Project Work, Research and Library Work) and Technical Drawing (Geometry, Draftmanship, Computer Aided Design). These subjects are extremely valuable to the Regional Technical Colleges and Colleges of Technology.
  
  
• Facilities: O' Fiaich College is equipped with the best state-of-the-art technology to allow students to optimise their aptitudes in the new technologies. A new fully equipped Senior Engineering Room, a Building Construction Room and a Workshop, a Technical Drawing Studio, two Senior Computer Laboratories, a Home Economics Kitchen along with a very sophisticated Physics Laboratory provide our students with a unique opportunity to take their place with the best in the country - whether in the workplace or in further education.

Students with the Leaving Certificate are eligible for a wide variety of occupations while it also provides the accepted entry requirements for Third Level Education - Universities, Teacher Training Colleges, Regional Technical Colleges and Colleges of Technology.
